6 Ways to Stay Healthy at Work

Unless your job involves a lot of physical activity or moving around, it is difficult to stay healthy when you are working. The problem gets compounded when you work with computers. Working with computers or in a typical office forces you to sit in the same position for hours and you are sedentary for the major portion of the day. This not only hurts your back and your eyes, but also causes other health problems like increase in weight. However, it is easy to stay healthy at work and there are so many simple things that you can do to maintain your health even while at work. Here are a few tips.

1. Take small breaks

If your job dictates that you sit in one place for hours, take small breaks and go for a small break. You can walk down to the cafeteria or the restroom or just walk around the office space. This gives you a break from the bad posture and also is a good exercise for your body.

2. Stop munching on eatables while at work

The bad part about eating when you are at work is that you really don’t realize what you are eating and how much you are eating. You need to stop eating while working to not only stop putting on weight but also to stay healthy. If at all you want to eat something you can have carrots or any other vegetable alternative.

3. Drink a lot of water

It is always important that you drink lots of water when you are working. When you are sedentary we tend to think we are not thirsty, but the body needs water in any case. If your office is air conditioned, you are all the more dehydrated and need to replenish your body with water at regular intervals.
