9 Signs You may have Asthma

Asthma is a chronic disease of airways in the body that can develop at any given time of your life. This disease is caused due to the combination of environmental and genetic factors. The symptoms of asthma are quite common, and include wheezing, coughing, chest tightness and shortness of breath. These are the primary signs of asthma, and as soon as one experiences these in a perennial fashion, it’s best to go in for a check-up.

It is not necessary that every person will go through the same kind of symptoms all the time. Different people have different kinds of signs, and some symptoms may eventually lead them to severe asthmatic problems. Many asthmatic people do not see any symptoms for a long period of time, while there are people who will experience worse asthma attacks within a very short course of time. Asthma can sometimes also be caused during excessive exercise or viral infections like cold and cough. The symptoms that you have to be aware of are as follows.

Cough is a natural process of the human body to rule out irritation, pollens, mucus or smoke from the throat. Therefore, one will not take coughing as a serious symptom of asthmatic attack. Moreover, cough is prevalent during cold or viral infection too. But if you are facing constant cough, which does not seem to go away, it is better to go to a doctor for a complete check-up, and find out if it’s leading to asthma.

2. Bronchitis

But sometimes we fail to understand that these are also the symptoms of asthma. When these irritations do not go away or get better with time, it is suggested to go for an overall check-up.
