5 Possible Dangers of Liposuction

Liposuction is a type of cosmetic surgery that is used by women around the world to reduce fat cells from their bodies. If you are thinking about getting liposuction done, read these 5 possible side-effects, complications, or shall we say, the dangers of liposuction that you should be aware of.

1. Damage to internal organs

Although rare, this possible complication after a liposuction surgery can even be fatal. Liposuction is done by removing fat cells from a tube known as the cannula. If inserted deeper than required, the cannula can damage internal organs, especially while removing fat from the tummy.

2. Burns

If liposuction is done by using an ultrasound device, the skin and deeper tissues can be subject to thermal burns.

3. Disruption of fluid balance in the body

As we all know, fat contains a lot of fluid which is removed when the fat is removed from the body. While liposuction takes place, the surgeon injects fluid in the body. While this causes a severe temporary fluid imbalance, excess fluid can also affect organs like the heart and the lungs.
