7 Workout Tips for Beginners

Working out is not as simple as going to the gym and spending time on one exercise machine for half an hour until you are totally worn out. If you really want to see good results, you must have a method to your exercise and fitness routine. Here are some awesome workout tips for beginners.

1. Always warm up before you start exercising

Regardless of whether your exercise routine consists of aerobics, cardio routines or strength training, it is always a good idea to warm up before you start exercising. Warm up involves stretching your body and getting your muscles ready to exercise. Stretch your arms, legs, upper torso and do a few lunges to get the blood pumping in your body before you jump onto any other machines.

2. Wear the right exercise gear

Wearing the right exercise gear is crucial if you want to stay comfortable and safe during your exercise routine. Remove all your fashion accessories which can cause an injury, wear sport shoes that give you a good grip on the floor, wear supportive inner clothing and avoid wearing clothes made from synthetic material which does not absorb sweat. You may choose to wear a headband or a wrist band if excessive sweat bothers you. Taking these precautions will minimize the chances of common injuries caused by slipping or falling due to inappropriate clothing or accessories.

3. Don’t over exert yourself

Many fitness experts suggest this tip for beginners because their bodies may not be used to frequent exertion. If you think that you have completely burnt yourself out, stop exercising even if you are just halfway through your routine. Your body needs time to adjust to increased physical activity and if you have just begun working out, it is best to take a sign from excessive fatigue and back off.

4. Give your body a lot of rest

As a beginner, you will burn yourself out physically and mentally if you workout without getting ample rest. Get at least seven to eight hours of sleep on normal days. This will allow your body to recover from the exertion of your previous workout. Not giving your body enough sleep and time to rest can make you more prone to muscle injuries and other long term injuries.
