Breastfeeding has been the topic of much interest at all times. There’s no refuting the fact that breast milk is the best nutrition for your infant. However, there are still many myths that surround breastfeeding. Here are some of the common ones:

1. Breastfeeding causes inconvenience to women

Though initially it may seem like this, but if you look at the larger picture then breastfeeding is much easier and convenient than the troubles of preparing the formula and feeding the child in bottles. So it’s a myth that breastfeeding causes loads of trouble and inconvenience to women.

2. Breastfeeding means pain to women

Initial discomfort remains till the child latches on, but other than that it is not at all painful. In fact you can enjoy watching TV or listening to music while comfortably feeding your child.

3. Breastfeeding makes it difficult for women to shed those extra maternity pounds

Rather it’s quite the opposite. Breastfeeding women naturally burn more calories, approximately 300-500 more calories per day. Thus, breastfeeding in fact helps you in your weight loss plan by helping you shed weight in a healthy manner.

4. Breastfed babies do not get proper water
