6 Signs of Ovarian Cancer

4. Frequent urination

The urge to urinate more frequently; sometimes more than three times or four under an hour can also be a sign that something is wrong with your ovaries.

5. Abnormal vaginal bleeding

This is less common a symptom and can be a specific sign that there might be a cancerous growth in the ovaries. Post-menopausal bleeding and rectal bleeding are also signs of ovarian cancer. When these symptoms persist for more than a month, it is time you went to see your gynecologist.

6. Back pain, constipation, tiredness and weight loss

These things can be symptomatic of other problems or diseases in your body, but since these are also caused by ovarian cancer, it is advisable to get yourself tested.

Diagnosing with the symptoms and treating ovarian cancer is difficult as most of these problems can be caused by other diseases too. Also these symptoms are usually very subtle and are absent in the early stages of ovarian cancer. The causes of ovarian cancer are not exactly known and women with kids and women who breastfeed are less likely to be affected with ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer can be diagnosed only at a later stage and that too after a blood test and biopsy is done. Since the detection can be done only at a later stage, it mostly ends up fatal in many women.
