2. Lady Gaga/ Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta
It is no surprise to know that Lady Gaga isn't the quirkily dressed singer's actual name. She was born with a mouthful of a name, Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. The name change apparently came about when in her earlier days she would walk into the recording studio singing 'Radio Ga Ga.' When her producer texted her one day, his text auto-corrected and 'radio' become 'lady.' She loved the sound of the words 'Lady Ga Ga' so much that she decided to make it her new identity.

5. Joan Rivers/ Joan Molinsky
It’s hard to imagine this TV personality as anything other than Joan Rivers, but it is in fact a stage name. Once upon a time, a struggling actress who went by the name of Joan Molinsky changed her name to Joan Rivers on the advice of her agent Tony Rivers and it worked wonders for her career.

6. Bruno Mars/ Peter Hernandez
If you have been wondering about the curious case of this singer's unusual name, then here's the explanation for the same. The pop star was fondly called Bruno by his father as he was a chubby baby and resembled the wrestler Bruno Sammartino. Then he added Mars as his surname himself as he reportedly said: “I felt like I didn't have pizzazz, and a lot of girls say I’m out of this world, so I was like I guess I'm from Mars.”

7. Pixie Lott/ Victoria Lott
Delicate looking singer Pixie Lott does resemble a little pixie with her porcelain looks. That is exactly what her mother thought; that she was a tiny, cute baby who looked like a fairy. Thus the name change from the boring and common Victoria to the more quirky sounding Pixie.
