Just like a change in season makes you change your wardrobe and eating habits, you also need to change your skin routine. Every season has a different impact on your skin and so does spring. Here are a few spring skin care tips you should follow.

1. Start using sunscreen right away

Soft sunrays during springtime are no reason for you to be fooled into skipping sunscreen. So don’t wait for summer to start protecting your skin against the harsh sun. As the weather changes to spring time, the sun will start impacting your skin. Sunscreen will protect your skin from harmful UV rays leading to skin damage. You can use a sunscreen with SPF 30 if you are planning to remain outdoors all day or a sunscreen with SPF 15 if you are planning to spend more time indoors. Make sure your sunscreen is water resistant and contains a moisturizer.

2. Exfoliate your skin

As the weather gets warmer and humidity levels in the atmosphere rise, your skin will sweat more and gather more dirt. This is the time when you should follow this spring skin care tip and exfoliate your skin regularly. Scrubbing your skin will help you get rid of dead skin cells and dirt that may have settled in the pores. Using a light abrasive cleaner along with any exfoliant which has glycolic or lactic acid as one of its ingredients, is known to prevent your skin from flaking up.

3. Moisturize your skin

If you think that your skin only needs maximum moisturizing in winter when it tends to become dry, you are wrong. Springtime is when your skin needs to lock in maximum moisture because that is when you will start losing a lot of the skin’s natural moisture in sweat and heat. Replace your oil based winter moisturizers with lighter emulsions so that you can keep your skin subtly glowing in spring.
