6. Get sobered up if you want your license

In Tennessee and Mississippi, you can be denied of your marriage license if the clerk finds you or your fiancé to be drunk or an imbecile.

7. If you married the same guy thrice, its time you put an end to it

In Kentucky, it is illegal for a woman to marry the same guy for four times. Makes one wonder who did that in the first place for the state to come up with such a law.

8. You need an actual priest to officiate your wedding

And that happens even in New Orleans. You can’t get a psychic or a palm reader to officiate your wedding even I they brought you two together. You marriage can be cancelled because of this.

9. Not old to drink, but you can get married

For a very brief time between 2007 and 2008, it was legal for kids under 18 to get married with written permission from their parents. Wonder what kind of parents the kids would have made at such a young age.

10. Proxy wedding

In California and Montana, to help service men there is a law that states that you can still get married even if you are not in town. You just need to ask someone else stand in at the ceremony. Montana goes a little further where neither has to be present to get married.
