Top 5 Video Games Based on Books

Who doesn’t love books? We all do. But what people are more into these days are video games. They are like visual books, where you have to write every sentence yourself in order to take the story forward. Doesn’t that make things so much more interesting? Now imagine, your favorite book turned into a game. How much more exciting could it become? So, here are a list of top 5 video games which are based on books.

1. Dune

Dune was developed based on a story of the same title by Frank Hubert in 1965. Although this simple game was unable to do complete justice to the amazing book, yet, it did not deviate way to much from the main story and kept the theme alive.

2. Harry Potter

The Harry Potter series is one of the world’s most popular line of novels. Be it for children, teens or even adults, the books were loved by all. The gaming industry immediately picked up on the vast graphic sanctuary that this title had to offer and created series of games corresponding to each of the titles. It was like a dream come true to get the opportunity to take the place of Harry and walk in his footsteps in the battle against the Dark Lord.

3. The Darkness

The Darkness was picked up from an American comic book series that was created by Marc Silvestri, Garth Ennis and David Wohl. It narrates the story of Jackie Estacado and how the “darkness” inside of him changes his life. With extreme graphical fantasy and violence, great detailing to character designing and voice over, this game will literally make you live the comic.
