7 Tips to Hydrate Hair in Winters

The cold weather in winter not only dries up your skin, but also your hair. If you are someone who lets your hair loose, then the damage is even more. It is not just the outdoors that causes much damage to your hair, but also stuff like indoor heating, air conditioning, the driers and the iron you use on your hair. The only way you can keep your hair shiny and healthy is to hydrate it. It is important that you hydrate your hair from the insides as much as from the outside. Here are a few tips to keep your hair hydrated this winter.

1. Use a conditioner with glycerin in it

After you wash your hair with a shampoo, condition it before you start during it. It helps if your conditioner has glycerin. Glycerin is a humectant and attracts and locks in the moisture for your hair. Your hair also remains less dry and brittle.

2. Use a cream on your hair at night

Use a hair cream on your hair before you go to sleep. Most people tend to forget that the indoor heating can make our hair dry as much as the outdoors can. Hence it is equally important that you moisturize your hair during the night too.

3. Oil

Find non greasy oil and apply a little bit of it to tour hair if it is static prone. Oil moisturizes your hair and does a great job of keeping it in its place. It is also a great antidote for frizzy and curly hair.

4. Keratin based treatments

There are a lot of shampoos in the market for treating dry hair. But their results are varied and you cannot experiment with a lot of shampoos to pick the right one. The best thing to do would be to opt for Keratin based treatments. It is a fool proof way to keep your hair hydrated during the winter months.
