7 Makeup Tips for Sensitive Skin

5. Use matte foundation

The foundation you use is quite important. You can go for a matte foundation or a tinted moisturizer. Dusting this with clear micronized clay finishing powder would be a good option. Creamy concealers are used under the eyes and corners of the nose. These can conceal any blemishes on the skin. Liquid foundations, cream to powder foundation, and similar products can make for a good option. Lightweight texture of liquid foundations is not good for skin which tends to cause quite a lot of irritation. Moisturizing spritz can also be used on the face. The wrong foundations and moisturizers can lead to the skin breaking up and causing itchy rashes. That is why you should be careful when picking makeup products. In some cases, it is best to just go with mascara and eyeliner.

6. Search for the right combination

It is a combination of what you apply and how you apply that is the key to the perfect makeup for your skin type. For example, you can include mica-free powder bronzer in your makeup kit. Use a light hand to dip your powder brush in SPF 15 mineral foundation and sweep it with circular motions over the face. Use a concealer brush for sweeping it under the eyes. Blush brush should be used to get a natural shade of blush on the skin, sweeping it off on the cheeks.

7. Avoid applying makeup over makeup

This is one of the most important things to remember. If you have sensitive skin, or if you have acne, then you should avoid applying makeup over existing makeup. Besides, if you have an oily skin, it is natural that after a few hours the makeup gets mixed up with the oil. Don’t add another layer of makeup at that point. Instead, you are better off dusting your face with powder and soaking up the oil. You can also use blotting paper and dab your face with it to clean your face.
