It has a lot of sugar, butter and Trans-fat which should be avoided at all costs when you are a diabetic. Instead of buying cookies outside, you can bake them yourself with a healthy substitute of whole grains and fruit.

It is soul food. Comfort food. Also a fast food place staple. Also food that has to be stayed away from. Just like batter fried fish, fried chicken takes away a good source of protein and makes the dish into a fat and calorie filled meal.

Potatoes, chicken, fish and most of the food mentioned above can be eaten when you have diabetes, but have to be prepared in a different way. Bake it or boil it instead of frying it. Add a lot of pepper and vegetables to your diet and don’t add sugar to your fruit juices.
