6 Beauty Myths Busted

Beauty Myths Busted

Beauty is a relative concept. Its perception changes from one person to another. However, there are some commonly believed myths about beauty that we clarify here. Read ahead and benefit!

1. Drinking Water Clears Acne

Drinking water has nothing to do with getting rid of acne. Acne may be caused due to multiple reasons such as hormones, oily skin etc. Water may help keep your system hale and healthy, but will not help you get rid of acne significantly. Also, only drinking water will not keep your skin hydrated; you will have to use a moisturizer for that.

2. Waxing will cause regrowth of hair

Well, this one sure seems to be a popular beauty myth. Many women come to believe that waxing may increase the growth of hair on their body. This is certainly not the case. Maybe initially, the results of waxing may not be that satisfactory, but eventually as you continue to wax for years, you will see considerable decrease in hair growth.

3. Toothpaste helps treat acne

Toothpaste may temporarily cause your acne to dry out, and it may eventually break out. But, this is not a good way to deal with acne. Instead, you must opt for over-the-counter acne treatment creams. It is best to consult a dermatologist and seek treatment for acne if you desire.
