10 Ways to Heal a Frost Bite

Ways to Heal A Frost Bite

Frostbite is a nightmare that you undergo when you remain cold for too long. When the skin is exposed to extremely cold temperature for a very long time, frostbite occurs. Hands and feet are the most common victims of frostbite, though it affects nose, cheeks, chin and ears too. Here’s how you can try to heal a frost bite:

1. Move indoors

The first thing that you should do is to move indoors and stop being exposed to the extreme weather and cold outside. The idea is to move to a warmer place, so find it and go there.

2. Remove wet clothes

If the clothes have become wet, remove them immediately and wear fresh, dry clothes.

3. Warm the body

Try to warm your body. Cover yourself in blankets to warm up.

4. Warm the affected areas

This should be done gradually. For example if your fingers are affected, then keeping them under your armpits, one hand at a time, can provide some warmth. After that, use warm water and keep your hands in them. Make sure the water is not hotter than 110F.

5. Blow your body’s warm air on the affected part

Use your body’s warmth to keep the affected areas warm.
