6 Ways to Cheer Up Your Depressed Partner

4. Gift him something he likes

Gifting is not something that you should do only when there is an occasion to celebrate. You can give your boyfriend a gift if you want to cheer him up too. Pick up something from the shops that would put a smile on your boyfriend’s face. It could be a new shirt, a wallet, a watch or a gizmo accessory that he always wanted. Watch his face perk up and come into a cheerful mood as he unwraps his gift.

5. Get his mates to talk to him

Guys can get a different kind of boost when they receive words of assurance and encouragement from their male friends. Talk to your boyfriend’s mates about his depression and request them to talk to him and cheer him up. Men have a different way of boosting each other’s morale and his mates may be able to cheer him up in a way that you possibly cannot.

6. Make your boyfriend feel important

When your boyfriend is depressed, his self esteem can take a beating. If you want to cheer him up, your first target should be to increase his self worth in his own eyes. Set up scenarios in which you can make your boyfriend feel important. It could be something small like asking him to open a tightly sealed bottle of jam or troubleshoot a bug in your computer. Your aim should be to make him feel good about himself.
