7 Reasons Why It’s Tough to Say “Yes”

5. Bad experience in the past

If you have once failed badly at something, then you will be extremely skeptical when asked to do a similar job again. You are more likely to say no in such cases. Your past experience colors your perspective and you try and stay as far as you possibly can from that task. But you should also try and understand that you are not the same person that you were when you first tried your hand at that task. Since you have grown and matured over the years, there is a chance that you might actually do better now than you did the last time.

6. Fear of being judged

If the task assigned is of a large scale and involves a lot of people, then you would shy away from saying yes because you are too scared of being judged by others. This happens especially when you know these people or you are scared of people comparing you with someone else.

7. Fear of success

There are people who know that they would be good at something but they still say no to things because they are not sure if they would be able to handle success. They feel that the success might change their lives for the worse, so they choose to continue living the kind of life they are living.
