3. Keep a watch on what your child eats

The dental health of your child depends upon the types of food and beverages he/she consumes. You must include fruits and vegetables in your child’s diet. Plaque and tooth discoloration take place when your mouth comes in contact with sugar too often. This creates bacteria and acid which damage the gums. You must discourage children from having caffeine-rich beverages and too many sweets. Encourage your children to floss every time they have sweets or a meal.

4. Visit a dentist regularly

Children as well as adults tend to avoid visiting a dentist, when actually regular trips to a dentist is a necessity. People avoid visiting dentists because they are scared of them and the tools they use. This fear is ingrained in most of us since childhood. So, obviously even your kids associate trips to a dentist with pain and fear. You can talk to your kid and make him/her understand that a dentist is his/her friend and that they can save your child’s teeth from cavities, plaque and various other dental problems.
