6 Ways to Avoid Spending Too Much for a Party

4. Keep a tab on alcohol if it is a BYOB party

If you are attending a party hosted in a pub or a club, check whether it is a Bring Your Own Booze (BYOB) party or not. If it is, you will be paying for your own alcohol. By knowing this beforehand, you can choose to drink fewer shots or cocktails and cut back on your expenses during a party.

5. Hitch a ride back home with friends

It’s easy to be all dressed up for a party and get carried away with the glamorous ambience around you. But that doesn’t mean you run up a hefty cab check when you get back home. Some of your friends or acquaintances from the party are bound to be headed in the same direction where you want to go. Take advantage of this and hitch a ride home with them instead of taking a cab alone.

6. Avoid paying for other people

Whether it is about taking a cab, paying for a drink or buying the host’s gift, awkward situations can arise in or before a party because of which you may have to unwillingly pay for a friend or acquaintance. Avoid getting into such a spot by sticking with a group of friends who you know well or settling accounts with your friend in advance so there is no confusion later.
