4. A reason to become more mature

All the dreams that you see have to be viewed in a context because your dreams may change as your life stage changes. For example, the dreams that you have envisaged for yourself at sixteen years of age may not necessarily be applicable when you are in your late twenties. If you are holding on to dreams that are out of context or that you have outgrown, you may be wasting your time and energy for no reason.

When you keep thinking about old dreams and how beautiful they were, you block yourself to possibilities of the future. This means that you further block out opportunities through which you can being out your qualities and talents in the present. It could be possible that you are not able to discover or display many of your abilities only because you are too caught up with your past.

Remembering and nurturing old dreams in your heart can drain you of a lot of energy and focus. You have to forget old dreams if you want to stop rolling in the past and look ahead for a bright future. Old dreams are like the chains on your legs which won’t allow you to move forward. To start life afresh and weave new dreams, you have to let go of the old ones first.
