6 Celebrities Who Died Young
Death is very uncertain – you don’t know when will your last day on this planet be. Hence, it is always advised to live for today, as nobody has seen tomorrow. There can be nothing more tragic than a person’s untimely death. And when that person is a renowned artist or a famous personality, who is known and loved by people all over the globe, then it is even sadder.
There are many known and celebrated people who died at a young age; some when they were at the peak of their career. Some of the deaths were accidental, while others were suicides. Their families and fans have mourned their deaths for a long time, and they are remembered fondly even today. Listed here are some such celebrities who died young.
1. Kurt Cobain
Kurt Cobain is one of the most renowned artists/performers of all time. He was the lead singer in the American grunge band, Nirvana. Kurt Cobain was discovered dead in his Seattle home on 8th April 1994. He was just 27 years old, and was at his peak. His death was officially treated as suicide, as he was found dead with a shotgun across his body with a visible wound on the head, along with a suicide note. Just before his tragic death, Kurt had come to normalcy after his discharge from a drug rehabilitation center. It was also officially stated that Kurt was dead three days prior to his body being found. On his cremation day, a public memorial was conducted at the Seattle Centre, where his wife, Courtney Love, recited the suicide note in front of his fans. It was an emotionally stirring moment for each of his fans.

2. Jimi Hendrix?
It was a very shocking moment for all music lovers and the music industry when the news of Jimi Hendrix’s death hit the tube. He was just 27 years old then. The greatest name in the history of rock music breathed his last on 18th September 1970, in Notting Hill. The post-mortem examination revealed that Hendrix had aspirated his own vomit, and hence, was choked to death. The report also stated that he was intoxicated with barbiturates. The last few days before his tragic death, it was believed that Hendrix was going through poor health conditions, chronic lack of sleep and influenza. He was also going through a rough patch in his personal relationships that led him to frustration. The death of Hendrix is still continued to be a topic of debate, as it is unclear to many. More than 200 hundred people, including some great musicians, attended his funeral.

3. Jim Morrison
Another legend, Jim Morrison, died at the ripe age of 27 years. Jim was an American singer, songwriter and a poet. He was known from his band ‘The Doors’, where he was the lead singer. He developed alcoholism at a very young age, which led him to his death. The exact cause of death is still not clear in the case of Jim Morrison, as he was supposedly known to have an overdose of heroin that may have been the reason. But sadly, no autopsy was performed. He was considered to be an icon to the youth, and his wild and charismatic personality made him extremely popular amongst his fans. Morrison was buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, which attracts many tourists till date.

4. Princess Diana
Diana, Princess of Wales and the first wife of Charles, Prince of Wales died in a road accident. The death of Princess Diana was extremely horrific and unfortunate, and the whole world was gasping after the news. She was just 36 years old when she succumbed to the injuries of the car accident on the 31st of August, 1997. This dreadful incident took place in the Pont de l'Alma road tunnel in Paris, and the blame was restrained towards the paparazzi then. There were in total three people in the car, including the driver, and Diana’s boyfriend Dodi Fayed, who were pronounced dead at the spot. It was only in the year 1999 after the French judicial investigation that the real cause of the accident was revealed. Her driver Henri Paul lost control of the car, as he was under high influence of alcohol. Princess Diana’s funeral was held at Westminster Abbey that drew a crowd of almost 3 million mourners in London, and was telecast worldwide.

5. Heath Ledger
“Why so serious?” This dialog does not have that appeal anymore, as Heath Ledger left us asking for more after his epic portrayal of Joker in the movie 'The Dark Knight'. He received instant fame and success, immediately after his first movie “10 Things I Hate About You” in the year 1999. There was no looking back after his debut in Hollywood, and he gave several memorable movies to his fans. His most notable role was that of the portrayal of Ennis Del Mar in 'Brokeback Mountain', where he played a gay character. But, it was the character of Joker in “Batman: The Dark Knight” that earned him much accolades for his performance from the critics, and he also won an Academy Award for the best supporting actor. Unfortunately, he was not alive to receive his first ever Academy Award. Ledger was found unconscious in his apartment on 22nd January, 2008 and later died due to intoxication from the prescribed drugs. He was just 28 years old when he breathed last. Fans, media and family members were unable to accept this untimely death of Ledger. He definitely left a hollow space in the hearts and minds of many well-wishers and fans.

6. Marilyn Monroe
Who in this world is not aware of the original sex symbol Marilyn Monroe, the popular American actress, model and a singer? She was the one who had started the trend of the pin-up girl culture amongst many. She starred in many commercially successful movies during the 1950s and 60s. Sadly, on 5th August, 1962, Marilyn Monroe was found suspiciously dead in her bedroom by her psychiatrist and the housekeeper. The cause of Monroe’s death was officially stated as ‘acute barbiturate poisoning’, but it has been the most disputed and debated issue since then. Many detectives’ theories state that she was possibly murdered. Monroe was only 36 years old when she died, and was at the pinnacle of her career. The funeral arrangements of Marilyn Monroe were huge, and are remembered even today. She was buried in ‘Cadillac of Caskets’ that had antique silver finishing of 48-ounce, along with champagne-colored satin-silk. The lid of the casket was half open for her fans and mourners to see her face for one last time. Whitney Snyder, a Hollywood makeup artist did her makeup on her last journey, a promise he had made to her.
