6 Tips on How to Earn Your Parents’ Trust

4. Do well at school

Whether it is sports, academics or other extracurricular activities, doing well in school or college is a sure shot way to get your parents to trust you. When you do well, it reassures your parents that you are responding positively to all the things that they taught you in childhood. It also lets them know that you have the capacity to stand up on your own feet in the future.

5. Communicate regularly

Gaining your parents’ trust is not something that you can do overnight. One of the ways in which you can do so is to communicate with them on a regular basis. Talk to them about what you did throughout the day, your friends and the things that are going on in your mind. The more you open up to your parents, the more you will make them feel that you are a reliable person who they can trust blindly.

6. Act in a way that a third person praises you in front of your parents

When your parents hear praise for you from another person, their trust for you is likely to increase by leaps and bounds. Do something nice for someone in the family in a way that you get complimented by that person in front of your parents. If you have received written praise or awards at work, show that to your parents so that see you as a trustworthy person.
