5 Movies To Watch With Your Dad On Father’s Day
It is only for a few years in your life that you would enjoy being taken out to the movies with your dad. Then you grow up, develop your own tastes, would want to go out with friends or with your partner and going out to the movies with your dad becomes a distant memory. You still would not want to go watch a movie with him as you may find his taste boring, but think for a minute how much fun he would have really had watching reruns of cartoons and princess movies with you. For this father’s day, you could either grit your teeth and watch a few classics with him or show him a few movies that you like, giving him an idea about your tastes. If you are both lucky, you can also have the same taste and watch a really good movie together. It really depends on your taste and your dads on what to watch but here are some great movies that can be watched on Father’s day.
1. Remembering the Artist: Robert De Niro, Sr
This documentary just came out and this is just about the best tribute a guy can give to his father. Although De Niro was estranged from his father and did not really live with him, his love for him stayed on and this movie very poignantly talks about his dad’s life and his struggles as an artist and as a man with different sexual preferences. A lot of people would feel the same after watching this movie and realize and see their dad’s as working men and as human beings.

Compared to the earlier movie, this would be just trash, but it has a lot of things that would please both you and your dad. It is about a dad’s relentless search for his daughter and also about how he cares very little for his life and health when it comes to saving his only daughter. Although a commercial potboiler, it is a great Father’s day movie that features no mother in it.
3. Field of Dreams
This is one emotional, soppy movie that is at the same time centered round baseball and also clouds over it completely. It talks about the feelings a dad has for his son and also the feelings a son has for his dad. Keep tissue papers ready if you are watching this movie with your dad. Also be prepared for a little ribbing when you are bawling your eyes out.
4. James Bond movies
What better way to start a conversation about the changing technology and styles than watch all the James Bond movies together? The movies are a reflection of our times, our styles, our attitudes and also strangely our political history. Catch all if you can, or if you cannot pick your favorites and enjoy discussing or dicing the movie.
