9 Easy Ways To Keep Your PC Running Smoothly

Is your boyfriend or partner tired of coming to your rescue every time your computer dies on you? We know how hard it is to understand technical functions of a computer. We have put together lesson 101 in keeping your PC smooth and running all the time. Let’s take a female-friendly roller coaster ride in the world of computers and technology.

1. Use a good anti-virus software

Okay, good is probably not the best word to use. We meant to say, ‘use a great anti-virus’ software. There are lots of paid and free anti-virus softwares available out there, but ladies, we all know that there are no free lunches. We suggest you buy a well known anti-virus to protect your PC from nasty virus attacks. Some of the popular ones are Norton, AVG, Avira, Trend Micro, Webroot and Panda.

2. Don’t clutter your desktop

As silly as it sounds, how annoying would it be if someone cluttered the dressing table in your bedroom? We ladies would literally malfunction if that happened. A clutter free desktop will mean that your PC will spend less time to start-up, shut down and process.

3. Don’t let dirt get to your PC

Like any other machine, your PC has mechanical parts which revolve and move. So keep it away from dust and other particles that may cause damage when lodged inside the box. How keenly do we ladies protect our makeup boxes and perfumes? Well, don’t go that far but show some love and keep your PC away from windows, doors or the outdoors.

4. Don’t let your friends install anything they want

We all seem to have that one annoying person in our group of friends who hogs the PC everywhere she goes, don’t we? Well, don’t let her install any random program or download applications that you haven’t heard of before. You never know how that application may cause conflict with the existing system in your PC.

5. Beware of malicious emails

Gone are the days when we realized that all those ‘money scams’ from African countries were fakes. These days much of online fraud happens via emails which ask you to click on random links or ask for your personal data. We say, stay away!
