7 Things You did not Know about Wrinkles

Wrinkles are a major concern now a days with everyone getting alert about their looks and health. Wrinkles are a part of the aging process and no one can get away from them. But yes, if one takes proper care they can be delayed and one can look good for a long time. There are many reasons behind the occurrence of wrinkles but there is a lot that you may not know about them. Here are some lesser known facts about wrinkles.

1. Wrinkles are genetic

We might think that excess pollution, sun rays, and a stressful life are the only causes behind the occurrence of wrinkles. However, that is not entirely true. They are genetic in nature. You would tend to have similar lines, depths of wrinkles like your grandparents, parents, uncles or aunts. If you have already started getting wrinkles, look at the photographs of your elders. You will find a similarity and you can delay the onset of wrinkles if you take proper precautions. It is always better to consult a dermatologist if you want the correct treatment for wrinkles.

2. Over-eating or under-eating has an effect on wrinkles

Eating too much or too little causes early wrinkles. When an obese person decides to go on a crash diet, he/she tends to cut down on food and this makes the skin saggy. Such people soon gain weight as they drop their diet. Such frequent fluctuations in the weight causes deep wrinkles on the waist, thighs, chest, arms, and neck. On the other hand, people who eat too less tend to dehydrate their skin. The body gets less nutrition, thereby leading to thin lined wrinkles around the eyes, neck, hands, and feet.

3. Those who drive a lot are more prone to wrinkles

People who have to drive a lot to their work or otherwise, have to face a lot of stress while driving and they also get exposed to the harmful sun rays. The continuous tension and excess sunlight causes early wrinkles. It is best to apply some sunscreen lotion or a healthy skin toner to avoid getting a wrinkled face at an early age.

4. Your food habits can cause wrinkles

Eating too much of junk food can cause your skin to lack certain nutrition which leads to skin damage. And this causes wrinkles. One must add fresh fruits, juices, and green leafy vegetables to the diet. Avoid drinking alcohol and stick to drinking a lot of water. The more hydrated your skin is, the healthier it will be.
