6 Worst Horror Movies
Horror movies are supposed to freak you out, make you scream, give you sleepless nights, think of every shadow as a monster or a ghost and generally keep you spooked for a while. But what happens when instead of giving you the creeps, they make you laugh uncontrollably. Granted this is not what the makers or the actors had in mind when the movie was being made, but intentionally or unintentionally, this happens and you walk out of the movie clutching your stomach instead of clutching on to your heart. Such movies which are a parody of its original intentions make it to the worst horror movies list. Here are a few which are classic badly made horror movies.
1. Saw IV - Saw 3D (2007-2010)
The horror part about this otherwise funny movie was trying to understand the numerous plots that were too convoluted to begin with. The legacy of the killer continues and you wonder why you bothered to see it and think why anyone would want to continue the legacy much to the horror of the original saw movie.
2. Shark In Venice (2008)
The first horror, a preposterous notion that a hungry shark would come to the canals of Venice because of rising sea temperatures and the second, the makers wanting you to believe that the characters could talk underwater with their radios in spite of having their oxygen masks and the final horror? Trying to pass this off as a horror flick.
3. House Of Wax (2005)
It is a scary notion to be encased in wax and become the exhibits after visiting a museum. The premise was good and it worked in the original. Remake it and put Paris Hilton in it and you have one of the worst horror movies ever.
4. Dreamcatcher (2003)
You watch the movie and wonder why you are supposed to be scared watching an alien coming out as poop instead of laughing and if that wasn’t enough another alien takes over a human body and speaks in a funny English accent and you are left wondering if aliens have an English fetish. The real horror was that the movie ruined the careers of many people associated with it.
5. Prince of Darkness (1987)
So the movie establishes that the prince of Darkness is not a human incarnation, nor a spirit that moves around at will but a jar filled with green goo. Add to the green goo Alice Cooper, scenes of plague, worms and maggots crawling all over. Disgusting and not horror is what comes to mind.
6. Fear No Evil (1981)
Or rather fear nothing in the movie for it doesn't take itself too seriously to be a horror movie. It is a mesh mash of earlier horror movies, could have worked as a parody or a spoof, but definitely falls flat as a horror movie. Archangels and Lucifer wanting to be in a waif thin high school teenager, and a male bully growing breasts. The horror is trying to process it all.
Sometimes the makers of a movie just try too hard and end up making the worst horror movies ever.
