It is generally advised to have a baby in the early twenties and try to get pregnant before you turn thirty five. Although older women have increased risks and other complications, it is not completely dangerous and can also be normal if they have conceived naturally or have an assisted pregnancy. There is also the risk of miscarriages and chromosomal abnormalities to deal with older pregnancies, but this is quite rare and the chances of this are quite low and many older women have healthy babies. Still physicians the world over advice women to have kids early on in life for some reasons as pregnancy above 35 can sometimes be unsafe. Here are some reasons as to why pregnancy above 35 could be unsafe.

1. Physical changes in a woman that happens when she turns 35 or more

As a woman ages, her body also undergoes a lot of changes. When she is over 35, her body becomes less for to conceive and go through a natural pregnancy. There is an increased chance of miscarriage and other complications during the pregnancy.

2. Other conditions that older women have and can possibly affect their pregnancies are

Gestational diabetes, hypertension and pre-eclampsia. An ectopic pregnancy, placental abruption, and placenta previa, in which part of the placenta grows over the cervix are also other problems older women may face more than younger women.

3. Older women are more prone to miscarriages and still births

Because of the age, women who have kids’ later on in life have an increased chance of a miscarriage or delivering a still born baby. Also the incidence of the baby being born with birth defects or chromosomal abnormalities is also high. It increases when the woman is giving birth after 45.
