5 Harmful Effects of Sun Exposure

4. Harmful sun tan

Cut the cliché that a tan is healthy. It is NOT healthy. It is a sign that your skin has been damaged. Your skin produces the dark pigment which darkens your complexion only to protect itself from further UV rays. Tan is not healthy and getting a tan on purpose is not advisable.

5. Damaged cornea and cataract

Prolonged sun exposure can also result in damage to the cornea and conditions like cataract. UV rays are more intense between 10 am and 2pm, even if it is cloudy. It is not suggested to go out at that time. If necessary, it is always advisable to go fully protected and covered.

Keeping these dangers in mind, it is extremely essential to follow some regular practices to prevent sun damage. Apply a moisturizer with Aloe Vera thrice daily. Cover your skin and face with a scarf, wear sunglasses and carry an umbrella and a sun block wherever you go. Sunrays are good and healthy as long as they aren`t received in excess. Remember, too much of anything is bad.
