4 Reasons Why People Find It Hard to Practice What They Read In Self-help books?

There are a lot of self-help books, blogs, websites and e-books which are available in markets. But simply reading the latest book or blog doesn’t mean that you are really practicing the techniques. Most of us forget what we read after sometime. Only some of us practice the tricks and follow the tips described in the books. The information and techniques given in the book are useful, if and only if we put them into practice. Here’s why don’t we practice what we read in self-help books.

1. Lack of concentration

Most of us have the ability to concentrate on things. But, our thoughts are scattered in such a way that our minds race from one thing to another. In this way, we lack concentration. Due to lack of concentration, we are unable to put the things written in the book into our mind. As a result, we are unable to follow what we read.

2. Lack of commitment

Lack of commitment is another reason for not practicing the tips written in books. For personality development and self-help, you must make a personal commitment to put in the efforts needed to complete the task. Most people start following things mentioned in self-help books half-heartedly, which is why they quit midway.
