6. Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall located in the Downtown Dubai complex is regarded as the tallest man-made structure making it the largest shopping mall in the world on the basis of its area. The mall has more than twelve hundred shops which includes an ice rink, the world’s largest candy store, a 5 star luxury hotel, 120 restaurants and cafes, 22 screens for movie entertainment and much more for the visitors.

7. SM Mall of Asia

SM Mall of Asia located in Bay City, Philippines was opened in the year 2006. It has several activities for older kids and adults such as ice hockey, skating, ice skating, and much more. The mall consists of four buildings which are interconnected by separate walkways. The mall also has a 20 seater tram that takes you around the mall. One of the important attractions of the mall is the IMAX theater which has one of the world’s biggest 3D screens.

8. CentralWorld

The CentralWorld mall opened in the year 1990. It is an eight story shopping mall which is regarded as the largest in the city of Bangkok. CentralWorld is solely for middle class Thais and its marketing was also done keeping in mind this target group. The mall has restaurants, eateries, apparel and cosmetic stores and an indoor ice skating rink. There are several more attractions to come.

With more than 6 million square feet of space, the Golden Resources Mall was regarded as the world’s largest shopping mall before 2005. As the mall is located outside the city of Beijing, many foreigners found it difficult to access this mall. Also, the mall was said to be the expensive mall of all, as the prices of many of the items sold were far more than the purchasing power of the Chinese people.

10. New South China Mall

The all New South China Mall, located in the city of Dongguan in China is of 6.46 million square feet and is said to be the largest mall all over the world on the basis of gross leasable area. The mall has seven zones which have models of international cities along with a replica of the Arc de Triomphe and a canal with gondolas. There is also an indoor and outdoor roller coaster. The mall has everything but lacks expected customers. Thus, the mall has been nick named as the ‘ghost mall’ of the world.
