6. The terms and conditions a movie must abide by to be eligible for an Oscar nomination are pretty stringent. The competing movie must be at least 40 minutes long; and it has to be shot on 35 mm or 70 mm film. In case the film is in progressive scan Digital Cinema format, it has to be shot at 24 or 48 frames and at a minimum resolution of 2048 by 1080 pixels.
