6 Reasons Buddhism is Becoming Popular

Buddhism is one of the oldest religions in the world. Although it was founded in India, it spread to other parts of the world and has more followers outside of India. There are different ways in which Buddhism is practiced around the world. There are different forms and three different schools of Buddhism and each country or group have their own rituals and practices. There are a lot of reasons why Buddhism is becoming popular these days and here are a few.

1. It does not have a book with a strict set of rules to follow

Unlike Christianity, Islam or Judaism, Buddhism does not have a single book that gives a set of rules or a strict code that needs to be adhered to. Buddhism is a way of life and there is less intrusions in the spirituality of a Buddhist in the form of religious institutions. Since there is not apparent structure and everyone is equally welcome in Buddhism, it is being widely accepted and followed through the world.

2. It is all about a sequence of simple steps

To be a Buddhist or to follow the teaching of Buddha, all you need to do is to follow the few steps that he has taught. These simple steps when done properly cleanse a person and makes them feel lighter and more spiritual.

3. It is a fad

Sometimes, the reason Buddhism is becoming so popular is because it is a fad like everything else. People bored with their religion or people trying to find something new or something deeper than what their lives have to offer take up Buddhism.
