8 Signs Your Teenager is Drinking

5. The walk

A person who has been drinking, will find it a bit difficult to walk in a straight line. If you find your child grabbing on to things in order to maintain his or her balance or tumbling over things for no reason, then it is a sure sign that something is up. You must not take this lightly.

6. The hangover

If the child comes back home from a party all sleepy and straight away goes to bed, then it could be a sign of worry. Also, if you find the child being very lethargic the next day and find him or her complaining of a headache, then it is a sign of a hangover. You would also find your child asking you to keep your voice down and being in a bad mood.

7. The friend circle

Apart from the direct signs that you can catch when your child has just returned from a party, there are indirect ways of knowing if your child might be drinking. Always keep a close watch on the kind of friends your kid has. If you are unsure of the kind of company your child keeps, then it could be a red flag. If all or most of his/her friends are into drinking, then it is quite possible that your child drinks as well.

8. The role model

You can tell a lot about your child’s inclinations based on the kind of role models he or she has. If you find your kid following the lives of people who have a lifestyle that involves heavy drinking, then your child is more likely to copy them and practice a similar lifestyle.
