6 Ways to Encourage Your Child to Do Well in School

4. Observe your children while they study

It is important to observe your children while they study so that you can spot faults in their method of studying. If they have a natural disability or an acquired inhibition which is barring them from doing well at school, you will be able to recognize it only if you are looking over their shoulders while they are studying. This may help you to suggest smarter techniques to your children to do better at school.

5. Instill a spirit of healthy competition

Kids may be better motivated to get good grades in school if they see that their peers are getting ahead of them. No matter what age your kids are, competition is a motivator which is likely to work wonders for your children’s performance. Whether you want your children to perform better in sports, academics or other co-curricular activities, instilling a spirit of healthy competition will help them to move forward faster.

6. Allow them to do what they love

Don’t expect your kids to perform to your satisfaction in school if you don’t give them what they love in return. For example, if your children love playing sports, cutting down on their play time and replacing it completely with study time is not going to help. Don’t stifle your children’s interests or passion, just help them to organize it and channel their energies in the right thing at the right time.
