Plan And Organize Well To Have A Great Time On Your Camping Trip

I have been a daddy’s girl all my life. My dad loved the outdoors. Camping was a mainstay in the family vacation itinerary. We’ve all become expert campers and I feel that you do too – it’s too much fun! Are you planning a camping trip? Get organized then. It is one way you’ll be able to enjoy. I’ve made life easier for you and am giving you all the dope you need to know about getting organized for your camping trip. Why, what, where – all explained beginner style.

Why organize?

What’s the point of going on a camping trip if you end up reaching the campsite and then having to worry about equipment or food? The whole idea is to get there and enjoy the outdoors. And believe me, the best way to enjoy the outdoors is not having to worry about the basic necessities. Organizing is not about being pedantic but it’s about knowing what you will need and how much.

Checklist

As soon as we decide to go on a camping trip, do you know what my first step is? I grab a pen and paper and make a checklist. Believe me, there is nothing worse than waking up on a campsite to know that you’ve forgotten the toilet paper. Whether it is friends or family, I suggest that you sit down with the group and make a checklist of the things you will need. And remember, keep updating that checklist as the trip comes nearer! I like to ‘tick’ all the items off before I leave to make sure I’ve got everything. And upon return, I like to ‘tick’ everything off before leaving the campsite so I don’t leave anything behind – this little effort will put the fun back in your camping experience.

Mock setup

Are you a beginner to camping? Is this your first time? If it is, I strongly suggest that you do ‘mock setups’ of your tents in your backyard before you head of. The tent’s instruction manual may seem like a child’s play, but it is not that easy in real life! Having a roof over your head is priority numero uno, so do a mock setup and organize yourself. The last thing you want is reaching the camping site and miss out on river-rafting just because it took you hours to set up the tent. You don’t want to miss out on all the fun, do you?

Safety

Getting organized for your camping trip means being ready to face adverse conditions. Are you or anyone in your group allergic? Does anyone have any specific medical condition? It is vital to organize your medical plan before you leave. In case of an emergency, a well thought course of action will be god sent. I personally start by putting together a basic first aid kit, and then keep adding items as I talk with other members.
