4. Grand Canal

This 2 mile stretch from the railway station is best experienced and traveled on a vaporetto. The passenger boat that has room for 230 passengers takes you through the canal where you can observe Venice and its myriad changes over time. The canal was once the commercial hub of the city where merchandise was sold. Although the thoroughfare has dwindled with time, the travel is quite an experience to relish and must not be missed out on.
