10 Good Online Banking Tips For Women

6. Never transfer your pin/password on text/e mail/IM

Do not mail your passwords to anyone – not even to your own self so you can remember them. It is common sense not to. If you are worried about forgetting them, come up with a code for your password and write that down at a safe place.

7. Strengthen your passwords

Always make sure that your passwords are as long as possible and are nothing obvious. They should have a good mix of numbers and capital and lower case letters, along with a few special characters. Also, keep changing your passwords from time to time.

8. Activate mobile alerts

Activate the option to receive an alert on the account that you use to transfer money around. This way, you will always get a text whenever money is debited/credited to your account, and you can get to know if a fake transaction was made on your behalf.

9. Run malware scans

Run weekly scans of your computer to make sure there is no malware installed that keeps tracks of your keystrokes and sends that information to hackers.

10. Use trusted payment gateways

Always use a gateway like paypal or google checkout to make payments – the gateways that are trusted and have been around for quite a while.

These tips would help you ensure that all your transactions are actually your own and your card is not being misused.
