Yoga has arrived in a big way in the West since the early 20th century. In the beginning, it was just something confined to the territories of India and her Yogis. But now yoga has found a way in the West as a new spiritual way of life which enhances the individual by giving them inner peace. So let’s find out about our tinsel town celebs who practice yoga!
1. Lady Gaga and Ellen DeGeneres - Power Yoga
Lady Gaga is known to be a fan of yoga, learning the art about a year back. She has opted for power yoga which helps the mind to concentrate better along with enhancing the body's flexibility. Power yoga involves 3 concepts - Vinyasa, Tristhana and internal purification. Along with difficult body poses, you have to regulate your breathing so that your yogic poses appear natural and free flowing. Ellen DeGeneres also practises power yoga and learns from a yogi.

2. Madonna - Ashtanga Yoga
At 53, if there is someone who looks stunningly beautiful among our celebrities, it has to be Madonna! Just look at her face, her figure; it's just marvelous. Well, the credit goes to Ashtanga yoga which she has been practising since almost 16 years. In Ashtanga yoga, there are six postures with an increasing level of difficulty. It commences with an 'opening sequence' that involves ten Sun Salutations and standing poses. After this, you move on to the next level depending on your ability.

Miranda Kerr swears by Hatha yoga especially after the birth of son Flynn. She has been on the yoga bandwagon since eleven years. Ricky Martin has said that he controls the obsessive and sometimes stupid decisions of his life by connecting his heart with his mind. Hatha yoga involves a lot of postures, stretching exercises and relaxation techniques. Other forms of yoga have evolved from Hatha yoga.
