First, it’s their fairytale wedding and then follows a nightmarish divorce. Haven’t we got used to expect a big divorce after we read about two celebrities hitching up? We find that quite annoying. It’s a pity that marriage has become such a joke in Hollywood, don’t you think? Well, let’s look at some of the top celebrity divorces.

Separating after 7 years is not a joke, is it ladies? Why would anyone want to start their life afresh after spending so many years together beats us. Maybe it's the Oscar curse. Yep, there's this weird thing going on in Hollywood that once an actor or an actress wins an Oscar, chances are that they will get divorced from their partners. Kate and Sam got divorced in 2008 after she won her Best Actress award for 'The Reader'.

We thought this couple would sail really well, considering both are young, dynamic and successful actors. Did you know that they had a cosy little private wedding in 2008 in Canada? Rumor mills say that their busy schedules and lack of time for each other was the cause of their split in 2010. But somehow we choose to think, it's just young blood and the lack of patience for allowing one another to learn to co-exist. But then again, who are we to comment?

3. Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt
This was once divorce that really affected us badly. Didn't you feel terrible too? We loved watching this tremendously popular 'Friends' star and the Hollywood superhero getting hitched together. And the hopes were high considering they spent four blissful years of marriage before a certain Ms. Jolie stepped into their world.

When Angie was just 20, she got hitched to actor Johnny Lee Miller in 1996. But it was the typical case of the woman's rising success being the cause of envy for the man. There was one more divorce with Billy Thornton after this, but let's not get into the details of that. We're just waiting to get to hear news of the Brangelina divorce. Don't you agree?

This is one more example of the Oscar curse we told you about. Months after Sandra won her Oscar, for 'The Blind Side' in 2010, came her divorce with Jesse James. But then again, this divorce was because of Jesse cheating on Sandra. What we fail to understand is why a man would cheat on such a beautiful, pretty and successful woman. It just doesn't make sense, does it ?
