7 Best Stretching Exercises to Keep You Fit Always
Stretching is perhaps the easiest form of exercise to improve the body’s elasticity and tone it down. When done with great care, it works wonders for your health. It is centered on a particular muscle or a group of muscles and helps to reduce the fat and increase the flexibility of that area. Stretching exercises help you to stay healthy, relieve pain and increase movement of the joints.
1. Hamstring Stretch
Sit on the floor while keeping your legs straight. Bend at the waist and stretch your arms forward and keep your knees straight. Hold this position for 20 seconds. Repeat this exercise 10 times.
2. Gluteal Stretch
Lie on your back with legs bent. Cross the left leg over your right thigh and pull the right thigh towards you using your hands. Stay in the position for 20 seconds and slowly return to original position. Repeat 10 for each side. This stretch is very beneficial for lower back.
3. Chest Stretch
Stand up straight with feet hip distance apart. Extend arms behind back and join hands. Extend your arms slowly a little away from your body. Hold for 15 seconds. Repeat 10. This stretch opens up your chest muscles.
4. Hip Flexor Stretch
Place your right foot forward at one stride’s distance and bend the knee. Push yourself gently forward and stay so for 20 seconds. Repeat 10 counts for each leg.
