5 Things You Should Never Reveal Online

5 Things You Should Never Reveal Online

You must never give out certain personal information online so as to remain safe from cyber crime of any kind. Your personal details make you vulnerable to the evils of cyber crime and you must be very vigilant as you go for anonymous chats or online transactions. Listed here are the 5 things which you should never reveal online.

1. Complaints and abuses

Whatever you do online creates a permanent mark somewhere in the digital world that constitutes the Internet. It can always be traced back to you accurately to the point from where you used the computer/laptop, even the time, date and location by professionals. So never post complaints or abuses against your bosses or teachers, how much ever you loathe them, as you never know who might be hell bent to find out who did so and finally you might end up getting caught.

2. Your phone number

If you post your personal contact number on social networking sites, you do so at your own risk. It is always advisable not to reveal your phone number online to anyone you do not know in person. An email address is best for unknown people to contact you. Keep your phone number to yourself and avoid unnecessary harassment from creepy strangers who seek to unnecessarily trouble you, if nothing else.

3. Your address

Never give away your residential address online. And most certainly never to those sites which congratulate you upon being the lucky winner of some attractive free gift. These sites will always ask for your address where they would send your “free gift”. Do not take chances as mostly these sites are fraudulent and you might end up being in big trouble if you give away your address.
