Everyone has placed himself or herself in a fairy tale or fictional world at least once in their life, where everything seems to be perfect. With media playing a pivotal role in our day-to-day lives, we tend to believe that fictional characters can exist for real, when we see them. For little girls, stories of Cinderella and Rapunzel seem so fascinating and exciting, that they see themselves in their shoes most of the time and hope that they too will get a perfect Prince Charming for themselves. Our lives are immensely influenced from cinema and books, and this is the primary reason why we get attracted to the fictional stories and their characters.

In the course of time, there have been many famous fictional couples that have been extremely popular, thanks to books, movies, sitcoms and animated series. These fictional couples have inspired us, and have shown love to us in a magical form, such that we can relate to them in every way. Some of the most famous fictional couples that have touched our hearts are as follows.

1. Jack and Rose, Titanic

The characters of Jack and Rose escalated to fame with the blockbuster and Academy Award winning movie, Titanic. This fictional couple of Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton, was penned by a famous American novelist, Nicholas Sparks, in his celebrated novel, The Notebook. This is a romantic book that showcases the journey of these two young lovers, who grow old together. The book was also made into a blockbuster Hollywood movie, which was loved and appreciated by all. 3. Johnny Castle and Baby, Dirty Dancing

You definitely have “the time of your life” when you witness the romance of Johnny Castle and Baby, from the musical romantic hit movie, Dirty Dancing. In the epic musical romantic film Moulin Rouge, Christian, played by Ewan McGregor, a depressed poet/writer comes to the city of Paris and falls in love with Satine, a cabaret performer and courtesan, played by the beautiful Nicole Kidman. The chemistry between these two wonderful actors made the fictional characters believable, and was loved by one and all. The music and story of this film received much appreciation worldwide, making Christian and Satine one of the most popular fictional couples of all time.

5. Chandler and Monica, Friends

Who can ever forget ‘Friends’, the most popular and loved sitcom in the history of American television? ‘Friends’ was first aired in 1994 and went on to become an epic show with some amazingly created characters by David Crane and Marta Kauffman. Out of all the fictional characters, Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) and Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) was one couple that was extremely adorable and convincing. The relationship that these two shared started off from being good friends, to lovers, that culminated into marriage. The love between these two characters was charming and delightful, making them the most popular couple of all time in television shows/sitcoms.
