Why Do Babies Smile?

Why Do Babies Smile?

Smiling comes from deep within. It’s a beautiful emotion. And it’s the best moment when you see your baby smiling for the first time. There can probably be no sight better than watching your child smile.

You are likely to see your baby smiling when it is 3 months old. It can also take a little longer than this. Apparently, you wonder what’s going on in its mind. Like any other human being, babies smile because they are happy. Smiling is a sign that your baby is getting socially active. It is just another emotion that a baby shares with its loved ones. When we asked about this to 7-months old Nicole’s mother, she says, “ Nicole was 3.5 months old when she smiled for the first time. She always smiles when she sees me making funny faces at her. She smiles when her dad plays with her. I think, babies start understanding what joy is when they start sharing it with people around them.”

Babies smile, because they feel happy. They smile because you are happy too!
