What Is A Moisturizer

Like the name suggests, a moisturizer is a product that enhances the moisture level of the skin. It can be simple or very complex in nature. However, it ultimately works on getting the outer layer of the skin, or the epidermis layer as it is scientifically known, soft and radiant. A moisturizer hydrates your skin by either protecting your skin from losing moisture by covering your skin pores or by attracting moisture from the air and enabling your skin to absorb it.

Moisturizers, in present times, are not restricted to simply hydrating your skin. With research, experts have found ways to instill elements that your skin is deficient in with the help of a moisturizer. Moisturizing your skin is an essential part of a beauty routine to maintain the health of your skin. Apart from making your skin soft and supple, it prevents your skin from damages of aging, drying etc. The massage of your skin, while applying the moisturizer, facilitates a healthy flow of blood around the face, especially near the cheeks, which in turn gives a youthful radiance and holds back signs of aging.

Moisturizers differ according different skin types like dry skin, normal skin, oily skin and sensitive skin. For instance, dry skin requires more amount of moisturization. On the contrary, an oily skin would require a thin layer of moisturization, one that does not clog skin pores or else it would result in excessive pimples. For sensitive skin, it is advisable to use moisturizers with natural ingredients, especially one that is devoid of any active ingredients.

Choosing a moisturizer can be a tough job as there are so many products out there. However, when it comes to your skin, something that costs heavy on your wallet should not be rejected if a product is worth your attention. After all, it is good looks that all of us seek.
