4. Sleep paralysis

The muscles of your body are automatically immobilized so as to prevent you from acting out of your dreams. This mechanism gets reworked when you are sleep deprived. In such case, your brain wakes up suddenly during dreaming while the muscles of your body are still immobilized. This state, also called sleep paralysis, is frightening and prolonged sleep deprivation might lead into eventual hallucinations.

5. Soreness

When you are sleep deprived, you might experience sore body or headaches which become increasingly uncomfortable. Various levels of physical pain are caused due to lack of adequate sleep.

There is no alternative to proper and sufficient sleep. The only way to counter the effects of sleep deprivation is to get enough sleep. And so, if you want a healthy body and a happy mind, switch off the lights, lie down and shut your eyes!
