7 Ways to Protect Your Facebook from Hackers

5. Avoid logging in to your Facebook account from random computers and devices

Unless accessing your Facebook account is an emergency, avoid using it from random devices or computers. This includes other people’s smartphones, tablets and computers available for public use. Try to limit your Facebook use on your own smartphone. This will ensure that your personal details don’t float around even if you happen to lose your smartphone.

6. Use text message notifications

This tip is considered to be an effective way in preventing your Facebook account from being hacked. If you activate text message notifications on your account, you will immediately receive a text message when your account is being accessed from another device and you are not the one who is logged in. This way, you will be immediately alarmed if a hacker tries to access your account.

7. Turn off Active Sessions

Active Sessions is a feature on Facebook which gives complete information about your browser and location. When you use Facebook on multiple devices, sometimes it may happen that even if you log out of your Facebook account on one device, you may still be logged into another one. This happens because your Active session hasn’t been turned off. To avoid this, go the security section in the settings tab on your Facebook page and turn off Active Sessions feature to save your account from hackers.
