8 Ways to Get Kids to Eat Healthy Food

5. Compliment or reward for every healthy choice

There is no human being on the face of earth that does not like a reward or praise. Your child is no exception to it. Every time he or she makes a good choice of choosing a healthy food, reward him or her suitably. What begins as a way to earn a reward will eventually blossom into a habit. And habits stay forever or for as long as possible.

6. Stop forcing or nagging

Going on and on about the concept of health foods is not going to drive sense into your child’s head and for that matter, not even that of your husband. They will only end up having aversions toward all foods labeled healthy. Instead, make them a natural choice through mediums that are interesting for your children. Spanking or reprimanding is not going to fetch results.

7. Eat together

A family that eats together stays together in everything. And that includes development of healthy food habits. When you all sit down to eat, a child will naturally pick up eating habits and food choices from his or her parents. He or she will observe what you do and do exactly that.

8. Try colors, shapes and sizes

There are reasons why schools introduce colors, shapes and sizes to children. Kids are fascinated by them. Convert your veggies to narrate stories or into different things easily since molds and other fancy cooking devices are available in the market. Children will begin to eat veggies and other healthy foods out of curiosity first and will eventually pick up the habit as they grow.

Food is a delight to all senses. When you tickle all of them, you will have no problems to make your child relish healthy food as well.
