5 Ways to Avoid Sitting All Day

4. Set your posture right

Your workstation set up can cause you a slew of conditions ranging from headaches to tendonitis. It is important to keep your posture right while you are working. Your keyboard and mouse should be at a distance that enables you to keep your elbows by your side and your wrists straight. The screen should be around eye level. Your feet should be flat on the ground and your hips and knees bent at 90-degree angle.

5. Exercise regularly

Sedentary time is best countered by lots of frequent movement done for brief periods of time. Do some gentle exercises at your desk. Stretching your arms over your head, rolling your neck, arms and wrists, twisting your spine, bending forward and backward help relieve a lot of stresses.

Many people have desk jobs that involve sitting for at least six hours a day. The above mentioned tips will help you eliminate the fear of contracting what is known as the “sitting disease” and enable you to carry on with your work with ease.
