There is no denying the fact that sugar makes things sweet and tasty. What it also does is have a lot of empty calories that make you pile on a lot of pounds. Although you try to limit your sugar servings per day, there are times when your body will crave for a little sugar. This can happen when you have not been eating properly and you blood pressure is low, it is possible when you are depressed and you go in for some sugary sweet soul food, your body will also crave sugar when you are bored with nothing much to do. Giving in to the cravings is good for a while, but in the long term it can only be bad for your health. The best way to go is to try and prevent your sugar cravings. Here are some tips to stop sugar cravings.

1. Eat a healthy snack every time you have a sugar craving

Snacks do not have to be unhealthy and fattening all the time. You can have fruits as snacks. They are healthy as well as tasty. You can even cut yourself a piece of cucumber or a carrot and pop it in your mouth every time you want to have something sweet. These healthy snacks will not only stop your sugar cravings but will also keep your stomach full.

2. Eat a completely balanced meal every day

If you have your meals every day and it is balanced, you will most likely not have sugar cravings. Your body would have got the necessary nutrients from your meals and will not want any more sugar for the rest of the day. It is only when your stomach is empty would you feel like filling it up with all kinds of things. Never keep it empty. Break down your meals and eat 5-6 times a day if you have to.
