9 Tips to Relax During Stressful Times

Today, women do just about everything except relax. Modern women handle work, home, kids, relationships and more. And in the pursuit of bringing about a balance in everything, she forgets to relax. If you couldn’t agree more and yet don’t find time to adjust your schedule, here are some tips to relax during stressful times. These don’t take much time and are super effective in delivering results.

1. Practice deep breathing

Most men and women do not engage in the right breathing technique. And even if the technique is right, many of us do not breathe deeply. Conditioning your breathing pattern in a way as to breathe deeply and correctly does not just help your body battle stress but also offers solutions to several health issues you might be having.

2. Imagine a positive dream

There is a lot of difference between imagining and seeing. When you want to imagine, think of things that can make you feel happy and relaxed. Let go of boundaries, apprehensions and think of a setting that is likely to make you feel happy like a beach or your home or some place you are familiar with and you like. This is like a happy dream. Visualize elaborately, you could even have imaginary conversations with someone you are close. Even if it lasts for a few minutes, it will be a welcome break and will make you want to approach subsequent tasks with hope.

3. Dance to your heart’s content

Dancing has been identified as one of the important ways of relieving bodily stress. While it may not be practical to dance when you are feeling stressed at work, you could do it at times and places that permit you to dance away. You don’t really have to know to dance, but some rhythmic movement of the body brings out frustrations and not to mention, the calories you may be losing.

4. Shop till you drop

That’s as delightful as a word can get. Many women find reprieve in shopping. However, it is also important not to overindulge if you don’t intend to regret later. Go out for shopping by yourself or with someone you love and get things for yourself that can make you happy. Things that can make you look and feel good always lift spirits.

5. Call a friend

Is there someone you just want to get away with? Someone you trust with your life? Calling that person and talking for a few minutes can make you feel better. A temporary deviation sounds like a great choice when stressed.
